Project Update: August 2007

Stage One Complete

Stage One of the Aireys Inlet Recreation Infrastructure Strategy included:

• community consultation to assess the recreation needs of the Aireys Inlet community, and;
  
• an assessment of the feasibility of the site on the corner of Gilbert Street and Boundary Road to accommodate infrastructure and programs to meet the identified recreation needs of the Aireys Inlet community.

All tasks related to Stage One have been completed. The results can be found in the Aireys Inlet Recreation Infrastructure Strategy Stage 1 Report attached to this web site.

Stage Two

Stage One of the Aireys Inlet Recreation Infrastructure Strategy concluded that a master plan should NOT be developed for the site on the corner of Gilbert Street and Boundary Road.

Stage Two will involve the development of other strategies and options to accommodate the recreation needs of the Aireys Inlet community, as identified in Stage One.

The Aireys Inlet Project Reference Group will meet in September 2007 to confirm the brief for Stage Two of the project, which should commence in September 2007.
